Notes on Movement - Kinetic Drawing #113

2021-2022
201×152×8cm
Ink on Canvas Stretched on Board, Kinetic Mechanism, Wooden Panel

The work embraces the idea of becoming. In its slow, imperceptible movement, this work is akin to sunlight entering interior spaces morning and evening and slowly fading away. It asks the viewer to constantly rearrange their perceptual fields as the red and black fields of the drawing panels align, pause and resume their journey. The panels move at an imperceptible slow pace. They pause when either the black or the red colour field align and one could see horizontal alignments of lines in that particular field.
